My reading doesn’t change much from week to week because I’m a slow reader. I’m hoping to pick up speed now that I’m done with college, but we’ll see what happens. In the future, I think I’ll make these posts every week or every other week.

Today I thought I’d briefly talk through all the books I’ve marked as currently reading on Goodreads.

First, I’ve been reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling on my ereader for months and months. It’s probably been over a year. I read a chapter here and there, and then put it down for a long time. I don’t know why I can’t just get it done with. I love Harry Potter! I started re-reading the entire series a while ago, and the re-read has taken ages. I’m not actively reading this one, but I hope to get back into it soon.

Similarly, I started listening to The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien months ago. I got almost 5 hours into it. You may know that I listened to The Fellowship of the Ring and didn’t enjoy it. I love the story, but the writing bores me. I’m having the same trouble with the second book, so I put it on pause and started listening to the Millennium series. I have to get back to it. I own this audiobook on Audible.

I was feeling a bit slumpy when I picked up Gods Behaving Badly by Marie Phillips on ebook. I’ve been wanting to read it for a long time, and it was interesting right away. I’m not sure why I’ve put it down. I think my attitude towards ebooks changes every few months. Sometimes I’m really into them, and sometimes they put me off. But I’m not willing to put this one away yet because I really enjoyed the few chapters I did read.

I mentioned the Millennium series. I’ve been getting the original trilogy by Stieg Larsson on Overdrive on audiobook, and that’s been working out great for me. This is a re-read, but it’s the first time I’ve listened to the audiobooks. Right now I’m on the third and final book, The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest. I love this series! I haven’t read and don’t plan to read the newer books written by someone else.

The book I’m most actively reading is Difficult Women by Roxane Gay. This is the only book I’m reading in hard copy! I actually won it in a Goodreads giveaway. I’m struggling a bit with the stories because they’re so full of abuse, and there’s only been one story I really enjoyed. But I’m going to finish the collection.

Finally, I wanted to read something from my backlog of NetGalley books. I haven’t technically started it yet, but I marked it on Goodreads: The End We Start From by Megan Hunter. It’s a short sci-fi story that comes out in November. I’m looking forward to it!
